“Allah raises the ranks of those among you who believe and those who were granted the knowledge.”

It is with great honor and pleasure to announce that the International Independent School has met all standard requirements established by Advance-ED Accreditation Commission and has been fully accredited by the North central Accreditation Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI). As a result, the IIS is proudly entitled to teach three American College preparatory Exams: Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), American College Test (ACT) and Advanced Placement (AP), in addition to administering PSAT/NMSQT and AP exams. Following is a brief of each test.

SAT I:
Three hours forty-five minutes test that measures verbal, writing and mathematical reasoning abilities that students develop over time. The score is from 2400 (800 marks per section).

SAT II Subject Tests:
In order for students to obtain equivalency, they’re required to sit for 7 SAT II subjects with a minimum score of 450 from 800. Each SAT II Subject Test is one hour long. The IIS proudly offers 11 Subjects that students can choose 7 from and they are: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Math Level 1, Math Level 2, US history, World History, English Literature, Full A-Level Arabic, Islamic Studies (Tawjihi Level), and General Culture (Tawjihi Level). SAT Exams are offered six times per year in the months of October, November, December, January, May and June.

ACT:
Composed of four sections which are English, Reading, Mathematics and Science Reasoning. Writing is optional. ACT and SAT are treated equally in colleges and universities. Exam sessions are offered five times per year in the months of October, December, February, April and June.

AP:
Exposes challenged and talented students to a vigorous college material which accelerates students in colleges and universities. The AP scale is from 1-5 and is only offered once in May of each year.

At the end, the IIS has proved to be a school community that nurtures academic excellence for all students and demonstrates Islamic morals, and leadership in character development.

“Coming together is a beginning, staying together is a progress, and working together is a success.”
