The Human Element: A Crucial Component of the Educational System
The human element is one of the most crucial components of the educational system. Therefore, the management of International Independent Schools places special emphasis on understanding the factors that affect productivity, aiming to reach the highest possible efficiency.
The management seeks to provide experienced and qualified members for both the administrative and teaching staff, taking into account that an individual's success in their job depends on two key factors:
- The ability to perform: Based on the individual's skills, knowledge, and capabilities.
- The willingness to work: Influenced by the material and moral incentives provided to the staff.
The management has developed a specific recruitment policy based on defined criteria for job applications. These criteria specify the qualifications, capabilities, and characteristics required for each vacancy, according to the job description. Afterward, applicants undergo a selection process that includes submitting an application, participating in interviews, and ultimately being hired. This process ensures alignment between the individual’s characteristics and the job requirements, which contributes to employee satisfaction and, consequently, increased productivity.
Recruitment Policy
Hiring qualified and professional staff is the first step in ensuring the well-being of students' education. The International Independent Schools are committed to maintaining and enhancing students' academic levels, and expect all employees to share in this commitment.
Goals and Objectives:
The objectives of the recruitment policy are to ensure appropriate actions are taken in hiring staff that align with the schools’ vision and mission. The goals include:
- All job applicants are treated equally, with no discrimination based on race, nationality, gender, religion, disability, or social status.
- The best candidates are hired based on their qualifications, abilities, knowledge, experience, and the skills required for the job.
- The schools fulfill their commitment to protecting both staff and students by conducting necessary background checks before employment.
- To ensure equal opportunities, all job openings are publicly announced to encourage a wide range of qualified applicants to apply.
Recruitment Process:
Applicants fill out a job application form containing personal information, academic background, and work experience, either through the website or by visiting the school in person. Any false information provided may lead to legal consequences and result in the rejection of the application.
All information and documents related to applicants are handled confidentially within the Human Resources Department.
The job description is a fundamental document in the recruitment process, clearly defining the duties and responsibilities of the position.
The institution has the right to inquire about an applicant’s previous employment at other schools, which is done after the interview.
Applicants undergo a personal interview conducted by the Human Resources Department and departmental heads. During the interview, the applicant's ability to meet the job requirements and perform the job duties is assessed. This includes answering oral questions, followed by completing an oral test, which represents 20% of the overall evaluation score. Afterward, applicants take written tests in both Arabic and English to ensure proficiency in both languages, both in writing and speaking. Additionally, some educational-related questions are included, representing 60% of the overall evaluation score.
After the interview and written tests, applicants for teaching positions (teachers) are required to conduct a demonstration lesson, attended by their direct supervisor. This lesson is evaluated based on the schools’ recruitment standards. Afterward, the supervisor fills out a performance evaluation form for the lesson, which accounts for 20% of the total score.
The passing score for English language teachers is 80%, while for teachers of other subjects, it is 70%.
